Wissous, Paris · since 1842
Since 1842 the Dormeuil family has created luxury fabrics for the most demanding tailors in the world.
In 1842 Jules Dormeuil, aged twenty-two, began importing the finest English fabrics into France. With his brothers he opened houses in Paris and London, and within decades the Maison was renowned for the care of its finishing. Dormeuil is still family-run today, with its head office in Wissous, just outside Paris, and many of its fabrics are made in its English mills.
Its history can be read in the names of its fabrics: words that have entered the tailoring vocabulary, each born for a particular way of living in a suit.
Sportex®
