Since 1733 the Piacenza family has worked cashmere, alpaca, vicuña and rare wools in Pollone.
In 1733 Pietro Francesco Piacenza obtained the right to use the waters of Pollone, at the foot of the Biella Alps, and started the mill. Since then the company has remained in the same family, now in its fourteenth generation, and is a member of Les Hénokiens, the association of family businesses with at least two centuries of history.
In the early twentieth century, an expedition to the Himalayas introduced the family to cashmere, which became the heart of production. Alongside cashmere come alpaca, vicuña, camel, mohair and silk. And a rare technique: raising with natural teasels, which lifts the nap and gives the fabrics their velvety surface.
