Vitale Barberis Canonico

Pratrivero (Biella) · since 1663

Wool, for thirteen generations

Since 1663 the Barberis Canonico family
has woven a single material, with the constancy of those who never changed
trade.

The first recorded sale dates back to 1663: a grey cloth for the court of Savoy. Since then, in the Pratrivero valley, the Barberis Canonico family has done one thing only, weave wool. Today, in its thirteenth generation, it oversees every step, from the choice of Australian and New Zealand wools to spinning, from dyeing to finishing.

For the tailor, Vitale Barberis Canonico means reliability. Fabrics that are a pleasure to work, hold their shape and move through the seasons without losing their composure. A solidity that becomes style in the colours and patterns of an archive built over more than three and a half centuries.
